How Hypnotherapy Led Me to an Unexpected Trip to the Dentist
One of my biggest weaknesses used to be my intense fear of the dentist. However, I can now say that I have this fear under control. For many years, I endured painful teeth, trying to put up with the discomfort rather than seeking professional help. I deeply regret this, as my fear was so overwhelming that I couldn’t even bring myself to call a dentist, much less sit in the chair and have someone examine my mouth.
Feeling Embarrassed About My Smile
After years of struggling with dental issues using temporary fixes like fillings and painkillers, I realized I needed to take action. My daughter was starting to pick up on my fear, and I didn’t want her to suffer from dental problems and discoloration like I did. Furthermore, an old childhood filling fell out, leaving a visible hole in one of my teeth when I smiled. I didn’t want to lose the tooth, so I began exploring my options.
I discovered a place offering hypnotherapy and decided to try it, inspired by a friend’s successful experience with it. After just one session, the change in me was remarkable. While I still wouldn’t say I love going to the dentist, I can now sit in the chair and get treatment without panicking, which is a huge step forward given the amount of work I needed.
Positive Changes for My Family
Since starting hypnosis, I’ve had several dental visits, and I feel more confident each time. My smile is gradually improving, and I no longer have to deal with the embarrassment of bad breath from decayed back teeth. I feel fantastic knowing I can kiss my husband without feeling self-conscious about my mouth. Even better, my daughter can now accompany me to the dentist, and seeing me face my fears has positively influenced her attitude towards our regular six-month check-ups.
